The
Protronix Modulation Meter 6020 is designed to
meet transmitter testing needs. It is an
automatic tuning and level setting instrument
suitable for a wide range measurement on all
kind of signal sources. The carrier frequency
range from 1.5MHz to 2GHz which cover the
frequencies used for Cordless Telephone,
Handheld Telephone, Mobile Radio Transmitter,
Radio Communication System. With its wide
range of measurement facilities the Model 6020
is suitable for development, production and
maintenance of above products.

AM
/ FM MEASUREMENT |
|
|
Model
6020 is designed for measuring both amplitude
and frequency modulation. For FM measurement;
Deviation selector is by three push-buttom
switch of positive, negative deviation &
average which permits assessment of modulation symmetry.
For AM measurement; Modulation
depth can be measured in three portion of
trough, peak & average selected by three
push-buttom switch which permits assessment of
the symmetry of the modulation envelope.

In
front panel, two signal input by BNC sockets
including, low range 5mV~150mVrms, and high
range 150mV~1Vrms.
In
rear panel, there are 3 output terminals. An IF
output is an approx. 430KHz interstage frequency
which composes the modulation signal.
It can be used to check IF frequency, or to
apply to other equipment. This signal is
controlled by AGC circuit.
An
AF output with very low harmonic distortion is
also available for directly connecting to
oscilloscope or sinad meter to observe audio
signal.
A
DC output is available to provide analog output
proportional to meter reading. |

AUTOMATIC
TUNING |
|
|
Model
6020 has an internal local oscillator be
automatically tuned to get IF which bit carrier
frequency from 1.5MHz to 2GHz. In addition, the
input section has Automatic Gain Circuitry (AGC)
to automatically test carrier level from 5mV to
1V. Then, a lock LED lights and meter indicates
the modulation depths or frequency deviation.
The ability to adjust the post-detection
band-pass is provided
by a series of high-pass and low-pass filters
selected by front panel push-button switch of 3
range including 3K (300Hz~3KHz, -3dB),
15K(50Hz~15KHz, -0.7dB), 30K (50Hz~30KHz,
-0.7dB)
